Mont Marte Dimension Acrylic Paint Cobalt Blue 75ml
Mont Marte’s Dimension range of acrylic paints is heavy-bodied and highly pigmented, and that means the colour will remain bright and strong even on black polymer clay.
It’s wonderful to use with your single-part silkscreens, but if you’re using a multi-part silkscreen heavy-bodied paint should only be used for the final part as it remains tacky on polymer clay until after baking**
If you were to use it before the final layer, it will stick to the underside of your silkscreen and lift off your veneer.
I noticed the same tackiness with 2 other very well-known brands that I trialled before deciding to go with this much more affordable brand.
**NOTE: When I was testing this paint, I found that it is still slightly tacky immediately after baking, too, but dries well in the hours after that. Up to you if you want to seal it, but on my preferred Sculpey, Kato and Cernit clays I’m happy to leave it as is.
Second photo shows Dimension Cobalt on a mid-green background…it holds up very nicely after baking. (African Cowrie Shell silkscreen)
